    Suitability criteria

    Visual Aids Services provides this site primarily as a service to the airport lighting industry with the aim of helping to raise the level of competence in the design of airport lighting systems and, in the longer term, to provide a safer environment for air travellers. Therefore, Visual Aids Services will only consider news and events items that in their opinion enable the site's users to:

    • better understand the technical regulations surrounding the design, supply and maintenance of aerodrome visual aids
    • better understand the practical application of technical regulations
    • contribute to the debate about, and formation of, standards for the airport lighting industry, including those for personnel training

    Process, terms and conditions

    Visual Aids Services will consider each submitted news article or event notification. The decision of Visual Aids Services about what to publish, when and in what format will be final. Visual Aids Services will not conduct discussions or correspondence about its decisions.

    Visual Aids Services will not publish articles or event notifications that simply promote the products and services of individual companies or organisations. Visual Aids Services reserves the right to alter the written style of an article/event notification to reflect the house style of this web site.

    When you contribute a news or events item, you:

    • warrant that you own the copyright/intellectual property rights in the article/event notification being submitted, OR, that you are a duly appointed representative of the owner of the copyright/intellectual property rights and that you have the owner's permission to submit the article/event notification

    Visual Aids Services tracks user traffic and usage patterns throughout the site but this information is not correlated with data about individual users. To ensure that the Visual Aids Services web site and its content is meeting the needs and the interests of the majority of visitors, Visual Aids Services analyses traffic and usage statistics, including the IP address/domain name and browser type of visitors to the site.

    Sharing of the information gathered

    Visual Aids Services will only use the information gathered for the purposes outlined at the point of registration and in line with current data protection legislation.
